Her name is Gretchen...had her for a week, just for loan.
And I am on this weekend`s spotlight at the Art Garage Sale!
I have been so into the film-noir theme lately and out of this fascination came Anna and Otto!
These are both original pencil drawings on paper. Available here.
And for you who are, like myself, in love with cats, please visit the french blog CHAT ET ESSAI. This is a blog about cats, cats and cats forever...! All cat-related, both art finds, stuff and photos of them, lovely. And a very friendly blogger behind it all.
Visit Amelia and Josephine by Nesster on flickr. Dreamingly beautiful.
A botanical pencil drawing of a Poppy, or "Papaver" (the latin name is so beautiful). I am so much in love with these wildflowers, they are summer to me. The original drawing is now in my shop..!
"You can never have me" is the title here. Another piece from my solo show. Both humoristic and serious at the same time, I think. Pencil on paper.
I`ve decided to rename my shop and the new name is Wandering the Woods. (You know I am totally addicted to the Wood-theme) New updates will come too...-I am working on some new stuff for my shop these days. See ya around in the Wods!
Hour of the Wolf
Thought you might wanted to see more from my show. The title of my drawing "Hour of the Wolf" is a translation of the norwegian word "Vargtimen" which is my norwegian title. It means exactly the same, VARG=WOLF and TIMEN = Hour. The famous film director Ingmar Bergman made a film with this name, Hour of the Wolf. It is his only gothic horror film.
The hour of the wolf is the hour between night and dawn during which the wolf is said to lurk outside people's doors. In Swedish and Finnish folk religion it is the hour when most people die and are born. It is the hour when the sleepless are haunted by their deepest fear, when ghosts, demons and nightmares are most powerful.

I find this very fascinating, don`t you? Those times I have ever woken up nightime just before dawn, I have felt it, yes I have. It`s allwyas so hard to get back to sleep then...In my drawing Hour of the Wolf I tried to capture this feeling, this moments between dark and light, the wolf hiding in the bushes perhaps, a lonely rabbit...
I am so sorry for my oh-so long absence. I have been working towards a solo show, struggling to finishing some new drawings. And I made it, it went fine in the end. But I had some hard time on the way...
In February my best friend Julius (the black cat) left me. He got a tumor and had to be put to death by the vet. We had had him for 11 years, he was soon to be 12.
Julius as I allways will remember him. Miss him so much.
Back to my show: I took some photos from the gallery, they are not perfect shots but nevertheless I will show them so you`ll get an idea of how it is. I will show you some of my artwork too. My show is called "Scenes from a Wood". I made about 30 drawings for this show, all originals. I was inspired by old black-and-white films (film noir), botanical books and the wood where I live. The drawings are different scenes that take part in a wood. People and animals in the wood. Also some botanical drawings.
-And new reproduction prints from this show has been added to my Etsy shop! (More to come...)
Syko , from Finland, has collected photos of some scandinavian Etsy-sellers: Shop Local Scandinavia, for the Storque. Thanks, Syko, for also inviting me! We were asked to participate with a portait photo taken on our block or somewhere pretty in our neighbourhood together with some words...Read the whole article and see photos of the other girls here.
(Yes, it`s me. I live here...)
I have also made a new version of the Balloon print. This is a blue version, and I`ve called it "The Moon Catcher" this time. (I just had to. Is it a moon or is it a balloon? I am sure he thinks he has captured the moon) I have made some limited edition prints and you can get it here.
At last, I have also made a paintng based on this print. (Acrylic on canvas) -With the circus tent and everything. In the painting I put an elephant baby in the moonlight, he looks like he`s looking for something, kinda sad. Is he looking for his mother? Or a friend?
Take care!
I am working towards a group excibition. These tree pictures you see on the walls are not yet ready, I struggle to finish them. I must be patiente.
Not much updating on the internet from me lately, I am in my own world painting both new pictures and my floor...! (The floor is getting light grey all over) I guess there is the anxiety you get from being away from something a long time. I have been "away" from blogging all summer and now it`s hard to get started. Not because I`m not creative, I work all days now with comission and my own pictures. But perhaps my mind is just "elsewhere" and in a different mode. I regulary check my favourite blogs but don`t manage to write any comments. I guess it will come, eventually.
